Into the light. Video and light installations in public spaces

9 until 19 December 2010

The third edition of Into the Light is an international exhibition project with presentations in various locations across Antwerp’s Zuid district.

Various works will be shown in Leopold De Waelplaats. A walking trail with in situ work, light art and projections on façades, windows and screens has been mapped from the square, past the galleries to M HKA and Cinema Zuid

Zuiderpershuis will become the home base for Middelheimproductie. In the framework of “Into the light” they will create an artistic intervention for this festival, with prominent international artists as well as well-known Flemish artists and a number of young artists. Into the Light is organised in December to counter the shortage of light during the shortest and darkest days of the year.

During Into the Light you can see Tell, a strange yet captivating work by the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm on the large walls of M HKA. A taste of what’s to come later this year when the Middelheim organises a major solo exhibition of this artist’s work.
