Het Huis exhibition pavilion
Het Huis (The House) is a semi-open pavilion designed by the Robbrecht and Daem team for the new temporary exhibition site.
It consists of plaited grey-green curved steel plates and has been seamlessly incorporated into the green surroundings of the park. As Paul Robbrecht says, protection is the essence of architecture, and this structure offers protection for the fragile works on show in the temporary exhibitions without isolating them from their surroundings.
Together with the Braem Pavilion and Luc Deleu’s Orbino, Het Huis is an example of the museum’s ideal of merging art and architecture.
